Hello, I look forward to attending Southampton Solent University this coming September (2012) to study for a BSc(Hons) in Outside Broadcast. I joined Claires Court School in 1998 as a young boy in Reception, and have been with the school ever sice, right through to the end of Sixth Form. This summer, I look forward to finishing my final A-Level exams, in Media Studies, and Chemistry.

In school, I chose to study Photography, Media Studies and Chemistry for my A-Levels.
I chose to study Photography in order to gain a better understanding of the technical aspects of photography. From this I have learnt detail about how cameras, both film and digital work, as well as other aspects such as use of lenses, depth of field and use of image manipulation software. Through my practical work I have improved my understanding of composition and have developed a sense of creativity.
In Media Studies, I have made trailers and moving image pieces in various genres. I love filming, cutting and editing, as well as creating an end product that can be used to both entertain and educate people. I have my own channel on YouTube where I have showcased some of my work.
In 2009, I was hired and placed in charge of an audiovisual display system at a business launch party. Work involved managing an audio mixing desk and managing an onscreen visual display system live to the audience. In 2010/2011 I joined my school's Young Enterprise team as the Director of Communications and IT.
As part of this role I was responsible for producing and maintaining a website to be used by the company, as well as managing a majority of the team's internal communication systems, through the use of company issued email addresses, as well as member mailing lists. Our company then went on to win an award in the South East of the United Kingdom.
Within school and outside of school, I have participated in various water sports. I enjoy sailing and sailed across the Solent, from Calshot in Southampton to Cowes on the Isle of Wight.
In 2007 I joined my school's rowing team. I soon found myself as the coxswain for one of the school's top crews in the school rowing team. I really enjoyed both experiences, and feel that I have gained a significantly better ability to work in a team, communicate effectively and solve problems in a calm and systematic manner as they occur.
In 2010 after my GCSEs I undertook a one week work placement at Wycombe Air Centre. Work included moving aircraft around the field, and disassembly and cleansing of aircraft parts, such as landing gear, and also assisting in the rewiring and installation of electrical equipment in one of the aircraft.
